The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) needed to communicate complex agricultural initiatives — the Carbon Quantification Program and AgTech producer trials — to both industry stakeholders and the broader public. The challenge was to simplify technical concepts and make them engaging, while ensuring the voices of local farmers and producers were at the centre of the story
Our team travelled to Kangaroo Island across two separate shoots, capturing both interviews and supporting visuals. The strategy combined:
Authentic farmer and producer perspectives through pre-interviewed, on-camera storytelling.
Aerial and ground-level cinematography to showcase the natural beauty of Kangaroo Island.
Government collaboration with PIRSA, ensuring accuracy in messaging and alignment with policy goals.
Multi-platform deliverables including two 3-minute videos, social cutdowns, and stills for digital use
The Carbon Quantification Program highlights the importance of measuring and managing on-farm carbon.
AgTech innovations create opportunities by linking technology providers with primary producers.
Local farmers are leading voices in adapting practices for sustainability.
Visually, Kangaroo Island provided a stunning backdrop — a mix of sweeping landscapes, coastal horizons, and intimate farm settings. We used drones to capture aerial perspectives and paired these with close-up ground-level footage, creating contrast and scale. The focus remained on authentic, human storytelling — letting farmers and producers explain the programs in their own words, supported by cinematic visuals that emphasised both environment and innovation.
Delivered 2 x 3-minute feature videos and 2 x 30-second social cutdowns optimised for digital channels.
Produced photography assets of interviewees for PIRSA’s promotional use.
Created accessible, engaging content that helped demystify complex government initiatives, giving them resonance through local voices.
Strengthened PIRSA’s ability to communicate the value of its Carbon Quantification and AgTech programs to both industry and the public
