Study Melbourne sought to celebrate the achievements of international students and alumni through its annual Victorian International Education Awards 2025, while also reinforcing Victoria’s position as a world-leading destination for international education.
To create high-quality, story-led profile videos that honoured individual award winners across diverse education sectors and backgrounds.
To deliver a one-day turnaround edit from the awards night itself, enabling immediate social and digital promotion while momentum was at its peak.
All content needed to be polished, emotionally resonant, and suitable for use across Study Melbourne’s website, social media and stakeholder channels.
Insider Studios was engaged to produce a comprehensive suite of award videos for the 2025–26 Victorian International Education Awards 2025.We worked closely with Study Melbourne to plan filming around award priorities. As a unique challenge, we also had to manage this project with confidentiality and discretion, to maintain the surprise for the soon-to-be award winners.
Our approach combined:
Profile-led storytelling, capturing each winner’s personal journey, study pathway and contribution to the community.
Efficient production planning, filming across multiple locations in Victoria and coordinating schedules to maximise time with each award recipient.
Rapid post-production workflows, enabling the Awards Night Highlights video to be edited and delivered the following day for prompt posting.
The video series was built around consistent narrative themes:
Excellence and impact - international students as leaders, innovators and contributors..
Diversity of pathways - showcasing higher education, research, English language training, vocational education, regional study and entrepreneurship in Victoria.
Melbourne as a global education city - a place where international students are supported to succeed and thrive.
The creative approach balanced celebratory tone with authenticity. Each profile video was interview-led, allowing award recipients to speak in their own words, supported by cinematic b-roll and contextual visuals.
Visual consistency across the series was achieved through:

Neutral colour grading
Branded supers and music aligned to Study Melbourne’s identity
