The City of Port Adelaide Enfield (PAE) engaged Insider Studios to help redefine how locals and visitors perceive the region - as a vibrant destination where heritage meets adventure.The brief called for a series of short, social-first videos that could showcase the city’s rich mix of culture, nature, and community events, while feeling modern, approachable, and distinctly PAE.The challenge lay in balancing the region’s diverse identity - from dolphins in Garden Island and leisurely brunches, to historic forts and sailing yachts - and translating it into short, shareable stories that would perform across multiple platforms.
We developed The Port Way, a three-part listicle video series designed to highlight the best of Port Adelaide Enfield through an energetic, social-native lens. The audience were presented with a problem and a solution - “the Port way.” For example, how can you enjoy a day by the water that’s anything but boring? The Port Way shows off different waterside activities for everyone to enjoy, from family-friendly dolphin tours to oysters on a private yacht. Each video followed a “top things to do” structure, combining lifestyle footage, dynamic supers, and motion graphics with a strong sense of local storytelling.
Our production strategy focused on:
Authenticity: Featuring hidden gems and small businesses to capture the region’s character.
Efficiency: Shooting across multiple coastal and urban locations over two production days.
Energy: We wanted destinations and activities that exuded vibrancy and excitement - with such short videos, we needed the shots to pack a punch.
The storytelling was built around three key themes:
Heritage meets adventure – celebrating the region’s unique blend of history, food, and outdoor activities.
Local energy – showcasing community life and destinations that give PAE its pulse.
Discoverable moments – positioning the region as a place to explore, wander, and return to.
Visually, The Port Way embraced a cinematic yet playful tone. Drone footage brought scope and movement to the coastline and river systems, while handheld and gimbal shots captured the intimacy of markets, events, and cultural spaces.
Each listicle video was structured around rhythm - quick cuts, warm grading, and motion text in PAE’s signature palette - creating a cohesive visual language across the campaign.
